During this pandemic, it's vital to keep our hands clean after touching surfaces at the store, cleaning or sanitizing, or after wearing our masks. While this is a great practicing skill, our hands will eventually dry out or some might even start to get eczema during the spring season. So, it's good to also continue to use hand sanitizer and wash our hands but also remember to put on lotion afterwards, eczema ointments if needed, and self-care for our hands to keep them moisturized. Here are some ways to keep our hands moisturized.

Lotions, Ointments, and Self-Care
There are several different ways to take care of our hands after sanitizing or cleaning our hands. The different ingredients in lotions is what is important. There is coconut oil, argan oil, shea butter, body butter, and more. One way to remember to do this is to keep a travel size lotion in a purse, bag, or vehicle and also a regular sized one in the kitchen, bathrooms, or bedrooms.

There are also ointments to use if the skin is very dry. The best ingredients to help with this is herbs, honey, and vitamin E to help keep the skin moisturized.

Some self-care that people can do for their hands are hand masks, and also sleeping with a humidifier. This will add moisture to the air to help moisturize your body and hands. In addition, swapping out to a moisturizing soap can help you avoid dryness.

It is crucial to be washing your hands, especially in a time like this. If you want your hands to stay soft and moisturized use a moisturizing soap and lotion. When you are doing activities such as washing the dishes, consider wearing rubber gloves to avoid drying out your hands more.  If you have any skin concerns, feel free to contact us by using our online contact form.
