| BOTOX® is a highly purified, naturally occurring protein which is injected into specific muscle with a very fine point needle. It has the ability to very precisely relax the muscles to which it is applied. This relaxation lasts for a number of months after which the treated muscles gradually return to their original condition. BOTOX® does not affect the sensory nerves in the skin, so there is no numbness in the treated areas. BOTOX® treatments can be stopped at any time with no permanent effects on your appearance. If you have BOTOX® treatments for several years, you may find that the muscles will take longer to return to their original condition, leading to some improvement in your fine lines and wrinkles, particularly if you are careful to protect your skin from sun exposure and smoke. |

| Benefits of Botox |
|
| The benefits of BOTOX® on wrinkles come from the ability of BOTOX® to selectively and precisely relax the muscles which are causing wrinkles to occur. It relaxes the muscles that cause Dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles seen when you make an expression) & helps the static wrinkles (wrinkles seen even without making an expression). The skin over the treated muscles gradually becomes smoother and less wrinkled as the muscles relax. The treated muscles usually start to relax within a day or two, and reach their maximum degree of relaxation within a couple of weeks. About 2-4 months after the first treatment, the effects of the BOTOX® gradually start to wear off. If you liked the effect of your BOTOX® treatment (and almost everyone DOES like it), you will want to return for another treatment when the effect of BOTOX® has just started to wear off.
If you have a second treatment, before the treated muscles have returned to their old bad habits, your second treatment will usually last longer (perhaps 3-5 months, instead of 2-4 months). Likewise, if you have your third BOTOX® treatment when you notice that the second treatment is starting to wear off, the third treatment may last 5-6 months instead of 3-5 months. Some people who maintain their BOTOX® find after a couple of years that they can go 6-12 months between treatments. We strongly recommend that Botox should be taken at least 3 times in the first year.
Untreated facial muscles continue to contract in their usual way, so that normal facial expression is unaffected. Because it relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX® treatments can also prevent new lines from forming in the areas on your face, forehead and neck which are treated. |

| BOTOX TREATMENT |
|
| BOTOX® cosmetic treatments are gentle and quick. No sedation or local anesthetic is required. You will be able to continue with all of your usual activities immediately after your treatment and can certainly drive yourself home or back to work.
BOTOX® cosmetic treatments take only a few minutes and are performed personally by Dr. Mohan, using the finest 31 gauge needles to maximize your comfort. You may feel a small amount of discomfort when the needle is inserted. BOTOX® is applied exactly to the muscles which need relaxation. This sensation lasts approximately 5 seconds. The use of very fine and smooth 31 gauge needles provides a minimal discomfort that can be felt with the thicker needles used by many other BOTOX® clinics.
Occasionally, a patient will experience a slight temporary bruising, perhaps the size of their baby fingernail, at an injection site. This can be hidden with cover up, and fades away in few days.

People who should not use Botox
People, who are pregnant, breast feeding, have rare neurological disorders like Eaton-Lambert syndrome or Myasthenia Gravis, or who are allergic to albumin should generally not be treated with BOTOX.
Dermafirm with BOTOX
Dermafirm is a new procedure designed to firm up the lax skin. In this procedure Botox is diluted 3-5 times its usual dilution & is injected in multiple sites on the face, except the T-zone. The effect of this Dermafirm treatment is long lasting (9-12) months. This treatment is a cost effective way to treat skin laxity. It can be combined with fillers & other Laser treatments. Please talk to our Cosmetic consultant if you would like to book your treatment with Dr. Mohan. This treatment is not available in many other Botox clinics.
Botox with Fillers
Botox can be combined with dermal fillers to give you the extra enhanced benefits to your face. Botox will help your dynamic wrinkles and Fillers will eliminate your static wrinkles to make your face look absolutely wrinkle free. Fillers will have the added benefit of lasting longer than their usual 6-9 months duration when Botox is used with them. The benefit can be seen immediately without any downtime. You have to try these treatments to appreciate the benefits of them. Only Dr. Mohan does these treatments at our Medspa unlike many other places where these procedures are delegated to nurses or other “Injectors”. |
